Summer Projects

The summer has come and gone and we are well into Fall. Jay has been staying busy with the Ducks and now Blazer's Preseason. Mandi has continued to work at the accounting office and picked up a 6 week job at the church. She also just had her first client at New Day Counseling and is excited to see the business grow.
As we transition from Summer to Fall we thought we would send you some pictures of the work we've done on our home this summer. It has been fun to see all the changes take place as we continue to make this place OUR home.
If you ever want to visit we love having visitors. So just let us know.

Project #1 The Path

Together Jay and I put in this little path. It's small and simple but we love how it turned out. We also, each got new bird baths. Jay really wanted this blue bird bath, but he had already gotten me a new bird bath for graduation. So now we have two. Mine is kinda funny as it has a solar powered fountain. The birds seems to enjoy it, but if you walk in front of the sun or the sun goes behind the cloud, the fountain stops.

Project #2 The Yard

We've also had some help on our yard this summer. It looks so pretty and we've finally covered up the spots where some trees were taken out and planted some new grass.

Project #3 The house and new furniture
Since I've graduated I've had a lot more time on my hands to play around with the furniture. So it's changed many times. But for now this is how it will stay. In the Family room, we got a new desk and set up a working corning for me. In the living room we moved it around many times, but for now this is how it will stay. We have some plans for a new couch, but that will be down the road. But we did get this beautiful new ottoman. We love it!

Project #4 Jay's Office

We were also Finally able to set up Jay's office. We got some great new furniture and had the room painted. Now, it allows for Jay to have a nice new office and we can have a another guest room for our guest.

Project #5 A New Door
Since Jay moved into this house, he has been wanting a new red door, and we finally got it! And it looks beautiful!!!!

Project #6 The Garage
This summer we have spent a lot of time on the garage. We've had 3 garage sales, gone through countless boxes and finally set up Jay's tools. It's looking good and we are close to being able to park a car in the garage. Here is Jay's workshop.

CA Nephews

Well, I never got a chance to post about our trip to CA, other than the cousin reunion. So I thought I would just put up some of the cute pictures of our time with the nephews, Will and Charlie Vidito. You can see more pictures of our trip on my facebook page.

The boys are growing up so fast and it was so fun to watch and play with them. Will went shopping with Grandpa and Jay, and they all walked around with their sun glasses. I got a chance to finally hold Charlie and love on him and take lots of cute pictures.

Cousin Reunion

After our trip to Bellingham, Jay and I headed down to California to spend some time with my family. We had a great time, but of course packed a ton of things into a few days. =-)

One of the highlights of the trip was a cousin reunion. It's been years since all of us have been been together. And overall everyone was there, just a couple were unable to make it. Here are a few pictures we took.
Jennifer Lord, Me and Erica Caudle. The three of us have been friends since Jen and I were 3. Wow!!!! Man time flies! Love you girls!
All of the cousins

All of the cousin's kids. Man getting this picture was an event in its self. =-)

The Country Fair

After the Mariner's game we headed up to Bellingham for three days. We had a relaxing time and enjoyed seeing our friend Jennifer and her family, Jay's family, exploring Bellingham and then going to the Whatcom County Fair. Jay was super excited to take me, the city girl, to the fair as I have been to very few. Jay's brother Joel, hooked us up with some great tickets for the Demo Durby, which was a very loud but a fun experience. We ran into our friend Deb Slater, I was able to meet several of Jay's friends from school, visited the many animal barns, we hooked up with the nieces and took them on some rides, and the highlight for me was we saw a Cow giving birth. That was quite the experience, but pretty cool! The fair was great, and I have a feeling it will be an Allen Annuel tradition. Here are some pictures from our trip.

The Demo Durby

I love this cow, he is Scottish. =-)

A momma pig and her babies.

This lamb, I don't remember exactly what is was called, cracked me up. He kept baaing as I took pictures and he had hay all over him. Too funny!!!!

Jay and our friend Deb Slater

The new born baby calf. =-)

The momma and her baby. =-)

Jay wanted to get me on a tractor. Doesn't that sound like a country song. =-) We thought this was a really cool one, and it turned out that it was Judy's (our sister-in-law) family's tractor.

Jay, Annika and Alyssa had a blast on a few rides.

Seattle Mariners

Friday, August 14th, started our marathon vacation. We headed up to Seattle to join our friends the Hines for a Mariner's game. We had a blast being with them, but unfortunately the Mariners lost to the Yankees. Jay will tell you he hates the Yankees, but I must admit it was pretty cool to see them. They are a Baseball team that has been around for years. =-) Sorry Jay, but don't worry I'm not a fan. Now Dodgers and the Lakers might be another story. he he

Anniversary Surprise

First of all, we want to say thank you to all of you who called us and sent cards on our anniv. What a fun treat. I personally didn't expect that at all, but it made for an extra fun day. =-)
Jay was so wonderful. He loves to surprise me so he planned this year's anniv. celebration. He said he figured we would have plenty of anniv. where we do dinner and a movie, but you only have one 1st Anniv. So he pulled out all the stops!!!! What a wonderful husband. =-)
Jay arranged for us to stay at a beautiful hotel in down town, called the Hotel Monaco. If you get a chance, check out the website I've attached. It was very European and very magical...as my sister would say. =-)

We had a wonderful dinner at McCormick and Schmick's down at the waterfront. Then we walked around and enjoyed the city lights, saw the River Place Hotel, where we stayed on our honeymoon, and tried to enjoy the HOT evening. Yes this was in the midst of our heat wave. But all in all, it was a fun evening.

Later on we had fun eating our one year cake... which was fresh from the bakery, watching our wedding video and give presents. Jay gave me this ring I had been eyeing. It was great!!!!

We had a wonderful anniversary. Thank you Jay for blessing me. I have the best husband ever!!! I love you!!!! Now it's my turn to plan our next anniv. and I've got a year to start planning. =-)
